allen west is now down in the latest poll to his democratic opponent patrick murphy. down 48%-47%. he could pull it out with the margin of error, but if it would be awesome if he lost. andth t tea anono p parartyty nolan winning 48-44 right now. he used to be a congressman as well. it will be interesting to see how that plays out. and then ami bera against dan lundgren, a long-time republican. it could go either way that long-time republican could lose his seat. then my favorite, tammy duckworth versus joe walsh. well joe, it was nice knowing you. why is he down so much? it may be comments like this. >> they wants the hispanic vote.

they want the hispanic dependent on government. just like they have african-americans dependent on government. >> there is no exemptions. >> don't blame the marketplace for the mess we're in now. i'm tired of h >> pick this president up, pat him on the head and say son son. >> cenk: well, we're about to pat you on the head and say son, son son there's the friggin' door, enjoy it. i wish the host had predicted this earlier hmm. >> joe walsh, the clown of the earth. he thinks on medicare you have to double down, go harder at it. he's first-termer. he's going to be wanted out. i would be surprised if he survived that first term. he's a bull in the china shop. he has no idea what he's doing. >> cenk: that was only a year and a half ago. hey joe you know what this is?

i've got a personal one for you. elbow from the sky--bye bye. now, all of you stay right here because we've got a whole other hour of "the young turks" coming. and wait until you get a load of me on climate change, washington, new york, you've done nothing about it. that anger when we return. >> lots of flooding, let's of rain, lots of win. >> the beach is usually 100-yard long before you get to the beach. >> fema personnel are working with state and local governments. >> there are things flying off the roof here. >> 30-foot waves on top of 10 to 11 to 12-foot storm surge. >> this is not a time to be stupid. >> the national guard is not too far from husband.

5:09pm
different record than mitt romney. let me show you the good portions of his policies. he would double fuel economy for cars by 2025. he would increase solar and wind energy and eliminate $4 billion in annual tax breaks for oil and gas companies. he's tried to do that, and of course the republicans have blocked it. that's the good. let's show you the bad. the copenhagen summit which so many people had great hopes for that pretty much got nothing done. they had a voluntary agreement--wow. he has basically abandoned cap and trade. no question the republicans fought him on that, but there was no second effort at all. he has approved the southern half of the keystone pipeline and i tell you the minute he's elected--not the minute, i like to be accurate--but when he's re-elected he'll approve the northern half as well. and of course he brags how he has done more drilling than
5:10pm
george w. bush. which is true. now here is president obama talking about in the second presidential debate about how great he is at oil drilling. >> obama: we have increased oil production to the highest levels in 16 years. natural gas production is the highest it's been in decades. we have seen increases in coal production. >> romney: more drilling, more permits and licenses. >> obama: yes, we still continue to open up new areas of drilling. we continue to make it a priority for us to go after natural gas. >> romney: we're going to bring that pipeline in from canada. how in the world the president said no to that pipeline, i will never know. >> obama: we have opened up public plans. we're drilling more on public lands than the previous administration and the previous president was an oil man. >> romney: more drilling and more permits and licenses. >> obama: we made the largest investment in clean coal

5:12pm
does anybody ever actually look at that guy and think he's really into coal? >> cenk: ha, ha, ha, romney is not into coal enough. if you elect an democrat we'll really be into coal. even into coal even more. climate change, mtv who gives a damn about that. and did it help? did your strategy a piece oil and coal, did it help? no, super pacs run by the coal and oil industries are running this ad against president obama any way. >> we can build on that rock for generations to come. but our current leadership in washington has taken us down a different path. a path paved by heavy-handed epa regulation. a path relying on facts not fuel. a path leading away from energy independence. a path that fails to recognize low-cost energy and desirable
5:13pm
high-paying jobs. >> cenk: yeah, nonsense. the reality is president obama has been terrific in weakening regulations. let me give a quote from the "washington post." obama has actually finalized fewer regulations than either clinton or bush at the same point in their terms. thank you for being more right wing than those guys. how about the issue of drilling and coal? look at this, 241 million more oil barrels under president obama's first three years than under the last three years of george w. bush. 75% increase in drilling rigs from 29 to 2011. u.s. oil production at the highest level since 1997. and most permits for deep water drilling since '07 even though we had the bp disaster happen on his watch. you're not going to outdrill. you're not going to out-coal president obama. how is it that climb climate change
5:14pm
working for president obama? would you brag about it? why do they do it, it's the money, lebowsky, of course it's the money. look at how much the oil company spent, $167,000 spent every day lobbying congress. every $1 spent on lobbying is equivalent to $30 worth of tax breaks that they get from the american people. and finally where did the money go? it went largely to romney any way. was it worth it for $720,000? romney got $4.7 million from the oil cop. the republicans win any way. and we all lose because we're right now in the middle of climate change, and we don't have any politicians or almost any media who give a dam or plan
5:15pm
to do anything about it. that's unfortunately the cold, hard reality. all right now when we come back we got a lot more for you on the storm. in fact, here is the view of new york. the flooding has begun. just ignore it because oil companies will make it all better. the answer to more drilling. and then bill clinton campaigning for president obama and how is it going to work? we'll have the numbers in ohio for you which are critical to the election. >> let's give the job to the man who has done the job so he can finish the job. >> cenk: yeah, 50/50. not so much. all right, later in the program you'll enjoy this. a he will elbow on the head. what for? awesome hypocrisy. stick around for the elbow of the day.

>> cenk: as we told you sandy has made landfall ten minutes ago, longer than that, in new jersey. it has affected many of the areas around new jersey as well. that was a picture of new york that we are a looking at on 57th street where a crane is suspended over head and everyone is worried to death over that. that is a building that we've done a story about--that has a $90 million apartment in it. this storm is taken a little more serious, it's affecting the rich--wow. we'll talk about that later in the show. when asked about the possible implications of the election, this is what president obama said. >> obama: i'm not worried about the impact of the election. i'm worried about the impact of families and on our first responders. i'm worried about the impact on our economy and on transportation. the election will take care of itself next week. >> cenk: nice standard answer.
5:20pm
nothing wrong with that. let's turn to the election and see where things stand. i want to give a sense of what to look out for on election day. i'm call it o-win. in order for president obama to win he needs four states other than the ones he has locked up already. that's o for ohio, and right now election of polls at "huffington post" is looking at, not just one poll but a collection. 48.4%-45.7% lead for president obama. the likelihood that president obama has an actual lead based on the polls is 97%. that doesn't mean that he has a 97% chance of winning ohio. it just means that he has 97% of leading today in ohio. now wisconsin 49.8%-46.0%. probability of the lead today is 98.5%. then you go to i had iowa.
5:21pm
another somewhat comfortable lead for president obama. probability of his lead is 95.3%. and then in nevada, 49.7%-46.4%, and again 98.1% chance that he actually has got the lead in that state. when you look at 95% and above in the four states that he absolutely has to win--he could lose every other state, florida, virginia, all the other swing states, north carolina, he still gets 277 electoral votes and continues to be president of the united states. so as we get all those national polls that make people panic understand that this is a collection of polls and it doesn't look so bad. it looks pretty good, in fact. now of course, a deal now to cinch the deal in ohio they send bubba.
5:22pm
>> we went to florida last night. he said, i got to go back right now. this storm is getting out of hand. i got to handle it. i said mr. president that is the right call. >> cenk: all right. now we're going to bring in our political correspondent michael shure and on the phone congressman tim ryan from the great state of ohio. which is logical. congressman ryan, what is your sense of the state of the race in ohio? >> it's very close. a lot of polling has us up three or four points within the margin of error. there are several polls that have it neck and neck. we're doing really well on the ground game. there's--we've surpassed the 2008 number for early voting and obama is taking that at about 60%-30%. that's coming online. the weather has been bad. it's been cold and rainy. it's supposed to be nice
5:23pm
starting friday, saturday, sunday, in which that will be solid for us to be able to get out the early vote the weekend before the election. but it's going to be close cenk. i mean, this is going to come down to the ryan. we're going to need people who will go out continue to volunteer and make sure that our voters get to the ballot box and that's how we're going to win. it will be a ground game. it will be grinding it out and it will be close right down to the wire. >> cenk: congressman ryan, i want to ask you about that ground game in a second. stay with us. michael, let me quickly ask about early voting that congressman ryan mentioned there. how much difference does it make that president obama has the lead. >> it's a significant lead. they measure it by party not valley vote because they're not in there counting the ballots. it's also a more popular thing to be doing. more democrats are out there doing it. it will have a huge impact,
5:24pm
especially with weather as a factor, the fact that it's trending in important states. there are a couple of states where the republicans are outvoting democrats but in ohio, a credit key state, it's part of your owen strategy. i'm partial to that i have a son named owen. >> cenk: you talked about the ground game, and that's obviously critical. now a lot of analysts are saying that president obama's ground game is more critical than romney's. but it's not just romney's ground game you have all these outside groups the americans for prosperity, and other groups that also have ground games also in ohio. is it possible that they could match the ground game in ohio? >> they really could. it's not romney's campaign, it's more the republican national committee who is doing a lot of it. their base is hate obama.
5:25pm
they're very energized to get out, and yeah, i wouldn't sit around and smoke cigarettes and say we got a great ground game and look at what we did in '08. we've got all these offices open and we've got the vote on the early vote, it's trending our way. this is going to come down to the wire. they've got a sophisticated game. as much as we dislike the campaign that mitt romney is running, as much as we dislike his position, as much as we see how much he flip flops on these issues and the latest is the china deal in ohio with completely being dishonest about the whole thing, you got to respect their ground game. i've been around--i'm not that old, but i've been in ohio politics enough to know that in '04 we thought kerry had it, and karl rove ground it out. they had an issue on the ballot
5:26pm
on gay marriage that drove out the base. this time they don't need that on the ballot because they just have this hatred for barack obama, and they're going to come out and vote and they'll be there on election day. we've got a lot of work to do. it will come down to the wire. we need to respect their ground game, and just go out and finish the last seven days here and finish hard. >> cenk: congressman one quick question here. as you look at that jeep story and how they're running all those as deceptive ads that they're going to take jeep jobs to china. do you think they'll be able to counter those effectively enough in the next couple of days. >> i think so. i just saw an ad going up today and tomorrow, the response ad. it's really hard hitting. it goes through the position that romney took, and then chrysler's and jeep's response to what he said about china.
5:27pm
then his last line is wrong then, dishonest now. i think that plays into the narrative that people have for romney. you know, there are still some undecided voters out there. this is going to hurt. this is going to hurt him. it's just a blatant lie that i think it will be effect, and the obama game is countering that, and i think it will be helpful in the last week. cenk i think this may be where he jumps the shark. this is where he gets way out over his skis on an issue that is so personal to people in ohio and so blatantly false and not rebutted by biden or obama or clinton or me or those up in toledo. it's been rebutted by chrysler and jeep and they smacked him right out of the gate. i think that will have an affect on the voters in ohio and those who may not have made a decision yet. >> cenk: tim ryan from ohio, thank you for joining us. >> great to be with you.
5:28pm
>> cenk: thanks, michael, as well. we'll have more from michael a little bit later. next up we're going to discuss whether obama has gone too far in conceding to the republicans and what he promises he'll concede later and we'll have more on the storm as well. >> obama: i will go to capitol hill. i'll wash john boehner's car. i'll walk mitch mcconnell's dog. politically direct lineup. only on current tv. vote smart. our democracy depends on an informed electorate.

last article that you wrote, lee. it's not just american donors, but it's foreign donors, as well. you wrote about how saudi arabian businesses might be influencing our election. >> one big spender in the election is a trade association it's called the american petroleum institute. despite the name "american," the board member is a saudi lobbyist he's a saudi national and he's help to go direct the american petroleum effort. they've been caught in transferring cash to these 501 c groups that are blanketing the states with ads. it's a convoluteed web but essentially 501 c groups can accept foreign money and be run by foreign lobbyists. that presents a massive loophole that allows foreign corporations and foreign donors to get involved in domestic election as
